Association

The Dutch Association for Groupdynamic and GroupPsychotherapy (NVGP) was established in 1957 en currently (2005) we count 755 members. The NVGP is a specialized group therapy association which intents to serve and protect the quality of the branch of group therapy as well as the profession of the grouptherapist. Together with seven other Specialized Psychotherapy Associations, the NVGP is organized in the Dutch Association for Psychotherapy (NVP).


The organization of the Association
The Members Meeting is the single most important organ of the Association. It is where policy issues are discussed, decisions are made which are subsequently registered in the  Regulations.

The General Board determines, under the responsibility of the Members Meeting, the policy of the Association. Furthermore, the General Board has the task to determine which policy intentions there are and they determine the priorities. In addition, the General Board determines how the decisions taken are brought into practice.

The Daily Board is part of the General Board. It's the Daily Board's responsibility to observe and adhere to the decisions made by the General Board.
In addition, Daily Board is also involved in the execution of the general tasks, the overall progress of the policies, finance management and the guidance of the administration. The Daily Board prepares the meetings of the General Board and ensures that the decisions taken are also implemented. Daily Board is made up of the chairman, the secretary and the treasurer of the Association.


Committees
Several Committees advise the General Board. Their task is mainly to prepare and execute policies. The General Board has the authority to delegate certain tasks to the Committees
The NVGP knows the following Committees:
- Education committee
- Science committee
- Committee of Outlines and Judgement (CCB)
- The Editorial office of the Association periodical
- Complaints committee
- Committee of appeal

There is also a Committee for International Relationships. They advise the General Board on new international developments.
